Opening Ceremony of the 320th AUN-QA Programme Assessment

On the morning of 7 March 2023, LHU together with the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) organized the opening ceremony for the onsite assessment of four undergraduate programs: Japanese Studies, Construction Engineering Technology, Finance - Banking, Automation and Control Engineering Technology.

Delegation of AUN-QA included 10 assessors from Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eric Wibisono - Surabaya University - Lead assessor.

For welcoming remarks, Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai, Chairwoman of the LHU's University Council highly appreciated the AUN-QA assessment team for their understanding and dedication in the development of quality higher education. She shared that the LHU has experienced 25 years of foundation and development and it has 6 training programs which were assessed and certificated by ANU-QA. Also, she acknowledged and praised the efforts of faculty members and students of LHU to prepare for the AUN-QA and hoped the University will receive good news from the assessment.

On behalf of AUN-QA and the assessor team, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eric Wibisono - Chief Assessor made opening remarks and thanked LHU’s leaders, academic staff, support staff and students, especially four programs under this assessment.

This is the 3rd time the AUN-QA Assessment at Programme Level has been held at LHU. In 2019 and in 2021, LHU had 6 programs successfully assessed and recognized by AUN-QA.

As planned, the 320th AUN-QA assessment will last three days from 7th to 9th March, 2023. During this period, the external assessment delegation will research documents, self-assessment reports and proofs,... They will also work with the Faculty Management Board, SAR teams, academic staff, support staff, students, alumni, employers,... and external stakeholders of the four programs. In addition, they will visit facilities, services, such as the library, computer rooms, practice rooms, laboratories, ... This assessment will help the University and the four programs be aware of the strengths, weaknesses to have solutions for quality improvement.
