LHU to work with Arizona State University

In the afternoon of October 21, a delegation from Arizona State University (ASU) led by  Ms. Kathy - Vice Director of Build - IT project in America and Mr. Karl - Director of Build - IT project in Vietnam had a visit and working with LHU Management Board at the first campus meeting room.

Receiving the delegation were Chairman of the Trustees Board, Rector Do Huu Tai, Director of International Relations Dept. Huynh Trung Tam, Director of Information and Resources Centre Huynh Cao Tuan, Dean of Mechatronics - Electronics Faculty Nguyen Vu Quynh, Vice Dean of Information Technology Faculty Pham Cong Xuyen, Vice Manager of Scientific Research Dept. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Chairwoman of the Trustees Board of Lac Hong Bilingual School Do Thi Lan Dai.

Ms. Kathy revealed benefits from the Build - IT project.

The working session focused on the Build - IT - a university education competence enhancing project sponsored by American Government and carried out by ASU. At the meeting, Ms. Kathy provided the participants with information about HEEAP Scholarship offered to LHU female lecturers of Technical majors.

The Build - IT- a project aiming at changing policies of university from management to others includes nine main activities: Connecting students with enterprises more closely,  Training leading skills offered to leaders of University units,  Encouraging female lecturers to actively take part in Technical field (joining in WiSe - a club for female lecturers, staff and students in Technical field), Supporting engineers training universities, Taking Vietnamese lecturers to ASU to get four - six week courses, Assisting Technical lecturers in building lively training project between theory – practice, Promoting Lab room and  Laboratories model, Providing electronic materials and resources for member universities to use and refer and Supporting universities to build CLOUD system to store data.

At the working, LHU Rector felt honored when American Government and the project Managers have selected his school. He also expressed his hope that the project will be carried out soon and gain big success.

As known, LHU is the first non - public unit with which Arizona State University wishes to cooperate. In the long term, we hope this project will help our University to change its look.
