LHU teams ready for Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2016

After more than four months of preparation, on March 1, LHU Management Board had a meeting with two teams LH – Gold Energy and LH – EST before their departure to Manila, the Philippines to participate in Shell Eco-marathon (SEM) Asia 2016 held from March 3 to 6.

On behalf of the University Management Board, Vice Rector Lam Thanh Hien met and encouraged teams before their departure to Manila.

Earlier, LHU won Style Award at EMC 2013 – Honda, ranked Top 10 Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2014, Second Prize "Best Video Clip Award" at Shell Eco-marathon 2015 and especially the championship title at Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2015 at Urban concept category. LHU was also the first team of Vietnam to win at SEM Asia.

2016 SEM Asia Contest officially starts. According to the Organization Board, this year contest attracts more than 100 teams coming from Asia and Middle East. LHU has two teams among 11 typical teams of Vietnam to earn the ticket to take part in this intellectual and creative competition.

Reportedly, LHU's two teams registered to take part in Urban concept category, using two different fuels - Ethanol and Gasoline.

After the success at SEM 2015, LHU's LH - Gold Energy wishes to conquer longer road with less fuel. Le Phuong Long - Leader of LH - Gold Energy said "We try to do better than what we have done. We have optimized our techniques as improving engines, using intelligent electronic devices to control by computers, designing simple car structures, using better and lighter materials. For car shape, we designed aerodynamics. The experimental result in Vietnam reached 200 km / l Ethanol. Our rival is Thailand's team.  We hope that our team will break the record using energy efficiently this year. "

Dean of Mechatronics - Electronics Faculty Nguyen Vu Quynh encouraged his students to compete well at 2016 SEM Asia.

This year, in addition to competition on car tracks, participating teams will join "Experimental Clips using efficient fuel", cultural exchange programs introducing the beauty of each country by theatres and exchanging souvenir gifts...
