First "Business Start-up with LHU Students" Contest successfully held

The finale of the first Business Start-up with LHU students Contest was successfully held on October 9 at campus 1, LHU. The contest attracted the participation of 31 start-up ideas of 82 contestants. The final round saw the competition of five excellent projects.

Attending the contest was Vice Rector Lam Thanh Hien, Dean and Vice Dean of International Business Administration Faculty Nguyen Van Tan and Nguyen Thi Lan Thanh, Vice Dean of Finance and Accounting Faculty Nguyen Quoc Huy, Dean of Oriental Studies Faculty Nguyen Thi Anh, representatives of departments and units, representatives of sponsors coming from companies and businesses, the Jury Board, lecturers, staff and nearly 500 LHU students.

Standing Vice Rector Lam Thanh Hien delivered a speech at the finale of Business Start-up Contest.

The contest's finale entitled "Shining young entrepreneurs' potentiality" consisted of two rounds: presentation and situation solution. In the fisrt round, participating teams introduced their team and presented their business plan in eight minutes. Ending the first round, the Jury Board selected three best teams to enter the final round. As a result, the business project entitled “Healthcare-Beauty center for post-pregnancy women and new-born babies” won First prize worth VND 10 million implemented by team LHU-C3S. 

The Organization Board also awarded 1 Second prize worth VND 5 million for "Vegetable and Fish Growing Model for Busy People" idea, 1 Third worth VND 3 million for "Healthy and Fast Food Chains" idea and Two Consolation prizes each worth VND 1 million to winning teams. In addition to these prizes, wining teams received many gifts, scholarships as well as sponsorship from businesses, investors to convert winning ideas into reality.

The Organization Board awarded certificates of merit and bonuses to winning teams.

Reportedly, the five best projects at the finale will be improved to participate in national business start-up contest. Especially, Dong Nai provincial Young Entrepreneur Association sponsored VND 2 billion for five above projects. Dong Nai provincial People's Committee has also planned to support start-up projects.

Business Start-up with LHU students Contest is a playground for students to present innovative start-up ideas and business strategies and mobilize funds for projects.

Earlier, from December 2015 up to now, LHU has opened 10 free training classes of Start-up to provide learners with intensive training in how to start a business and a chance to learn from successful entrepreneurs.
