LHU students won Second prize at National Start-up Contest

In the evening of December 26, the project "Human resources supplying and event organizing company from Youth Union officials and students workforce in Dong Nai province" made by student group Vo Van Manh Em (Faculty of Chemical and Environmental Engineering); Nguyen Cao Anh Tuan; Nguyen Duy Quang; Nguyen Minh Huu and Duong Cam Bau (Faculty of International Economics) from LHU excellently won the Second prize at the final of the 2017 National Startup Contest. The final round took place at Banking Academy (Hanoi) before the competition of six most impressive projects.

LHU students received Second prize at 2017 National Start-up Competition...

The competition is the most important part in a series of activities of Start-up Program organized by the Business Forum under the direction of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). This activity has been spreading and developing all over the country, actively participated by many students and young people. Through this, the wave of start-ups has received strong support with thousands of start-up businesses established.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh - General Secretary of VCCI - the organizer, the 2017 Start-up Contest continued to become fierce races and competitions between agroforestry and economic schools nationwide.

Reportedly, 2017 Start-up Contest had 159 projects screened from more than 500 ones as well as the business ideas of the 1,200 contestants. Through two rounds, the Organizing Board had selected 6 projects /159 projects with the highest score to reach the final round. In particular, the project of LHU students was one of the two projects at the competition to be deployed and initially achieved success.

VCCI said the project 166 aimed to 2020 that 100% of universities and institutes had at least two start-up projects of students funded by appropriate grant or connecting with enterprises, venture capital funds. So launching and implementing start-up activities in universities was very important.

Contributing to bringing LHU lecturers and students closer to the start-up movement, Dr. Nguyen Van Tan - Dean of Faculty of International Economics has been honored and bestowed merit at the contest. Thanks to Mr. Tan's enthusiasm, at the end of 2016, LHU was considered as the first educational unit in the Southeast region to achieve the four "Best" in the National Start-up Program namely The fastest deploying unit, The most serious and crowded participants, The most trained lecturers; and The fastest Club establishing unit (directly from the direction of the University).

2017 continues to be called the Startup National Year, with new policies on start-ups and innovations. In response to the spirit of start-up of youth nationwide, LHU Start-up Club bravely deploys and attracts a large number of students in the whole school. This creates a wave of start-up in students from small business projects after their study time to daring ideas to establish companies together. Some prominent projects include Moringa Extract, Mother and Children Health Care at Home, Human Resources Supplying and Event Organizing Company from Youth Union Officials and Students Workforce in Dong Nai Province... From the above premises, 2018 promises many potential projects and ideas from LHU students.
