Nguyen Vu Minh Khanh wins the 2020 Golden Play Competition

The final round of the 2020 Golden Play was successfully held on June 26 with the great attendance of lecturers and students.

The Golden Play is an English Speaking Competition organized the Faculty of English Language - LHU with the aim of creating a playground for English majors to exchange, learn and enhance communication skills.

The competition attracted the great participation of many contestants. It was started in early May. The contestants presented their tests in the form of v-logs in English. The themes were requested by the organizers including videos about personal information, reaction, evaluation, introduction, opinions. These videos were posted on the official fanpage of the Faculty.

After five weeks, the organizers selected six best contestants including Do Cao Viet, Nguyen Thanh Toan, Truong Thanh Long, Nguyen Vu Minh Khanh, Tran Trung Tin and Tran Hong Thuong to enter the final round.

The Judges included Mr. Eduard Garces, Dean of the Faculty of EL Le Duc Thinh and Mr. Grant Ackerman

In the final round, the six contestants experienced two parts "More facts about me". This part, the contestants shared more personal information based on a key word given by the judges. This part required the natural presentation skills as well as fast reaction to questions. 

In "It's my voice" part, these contestants showed their opinions on a recent social issue and answered questions from the judges. This part required more fluent English and tight and logical arguments.

The most exciting and interesting part was probably the audience's questions about the contestants' vlogs posted on the Faculty's fanpage

Ending the competition, the organizers awarded Golden Creator Award to Nguyen Vu Minh Khanh from class 19AV114, Silver Creator Award to Tran Trung Tin - class 19AV113 and Do Cao Viet - class 17AV111. Nguyen Thanh Toan - 16AV112 shared the Encouragement prize with Truong Thanh Long - 18AV113 and Tran Hong Thuong -19AV112.

This is the first year that the Faculty of English Language has organized this competition. After this contest, English majored students will participate in the national English Olympic competition.
