Opening Session of the 219th Online/Remote Site Visit in the AUN-QA Program Assessment

On 21 June 2021 morning, the ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) together with Lac Hong University organized the Opening Session for the online assessment of four undergraduate programs: Pharmacist, Accounting, English Language and Business Administration.

The Opening Session of the 219th AUN-QA Program Assessment was held at the first campus 1 of LHU

All evaluation activities took place online via Zoom

Attending the session were representatives of AUN-QA including Prof. Dr. Faura Ab. Ghaffar - AUN-QA Technical team and the Chief Assessor of the 219th Program Assessment (Lead Assessor of English Language Program) from University of Malaysia, Asst. Prof. Dr. Roberto Bruno Gozzoli from Mahidol University, Thailand, Prof. Dr. Hanna H. Bachtiar-Iskandar, DDS, PhD (Lead Assessor of Pharmacy Program) from University of Indonesia, Dr. Merlin Teodosia Suarez from De La Salle University, Philippines, Ms. Cynthia T. Totanes (Lead Assessor of Business Administration Program) from Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines, Dr. Novy H.C. Daulima, SKp., MSc - Head of Academic Quality Assurance Department, University of Indonesia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kiaran Kaur (Lead Assessor of Accounting Program) from University of Malaysia and Asst. Prof. Dr. Warin Krityakiarana, PT., PhD from Mahidol University, Thailand and Ms. Kritsaporn Rithichaidumrongkul (Jam).

Welcome Speech by Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai, Chairwoman of LHU 

On the side of LHU, there were Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai – Chairwoman, DSc. Lam Thanh Hien – Rector, members of the Rectorate Board, Dr. Le Phuong Truong – Head of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance Department, Leaders of four programs, representing leaders of units, relevant officials, Technical team, Media team.

Opening the session, Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai, Chairwoman of LHU delivered the Welcome Speech. She greatly appreciated AUN-QA Standards which provide a sound basis for the comprehensive assessment of the training programs, especially input-process-output standards, curriculum frameworks, lecturers, students, facilities, quality assurance tasks, and linkages with enterprises. In addition, she acknowledged and praised the efforts made by the teaching staff, especially four faculties under this assessment.

On behalf of AUN-QA and the assessor team, Prof. Dr. Faura Ab. Ghaffar - Chief Assessor made opening remarks and emphasized the importance of the program assessment to help the University and programs be aware of their strengths, weaknesses and give recommendations for quality improvement of the programs.

During the assessment from 21 to 25 June, the AUN-QA assessors will work with the Faculty Management Board, SAR teams (Self-Assessment Report), academic staff, support staff, students, alumni, employers,... of the four programs. Also, live streaming of the site visit will take place at facilities such as the Library, Computer Lab, Studio Lab, Lac Hong Open Workshop, Gym, Dormitory,... some working offices.
