Inauguration of SMC Automation Lab worth more than 6.5 billion VND

On the morning of April 8, 2024, LHU and SMC Corporation Vietnam Co., Ltd. held the Handover and Opening Ceremony of SMC Automation Lab with the value of over 6. 5 billion VND.

Attending the event, there were Mr. Tomita Shoichi - Senior Manager of SMC Corporation; Mr. Gerald Ho - General Director of SMC Vietnam; Mr. Takao Matsui - General Director of SMC Manufacturing Vietnam; LHU's representatives including Ms. Do Thi Lan Dai - Chairwoman of the University Council; Mr. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector; Mr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector; leaders of Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics; representatives of affiliated units; Faculty members and more than 100 students of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics.

The Automation Lab project is sponsored by Japan's SMC Corporation, a leading manufacturer of automation and pneumatic control devices. After one year of project implementation, the SMC Automation Lab has officially come into operation.

Previously, in June 2023, LHU and SMC Manufacturing (VietNam) Co.,Ltd under the SMC Corporation Japan signed a strategic cooperation agreement, including the sponsorship of a SMC Automation Lab worth more than 6.5 billion VND.

The Company also donated automatic and pneumatic equipment packages for LHU's robot creation, scientific research cooperation and technology transfer activities.

The SMC Automation Lab is located on the 5th floor of the Center of Scientific Research and Applications, campus 6, LHU

By early April 2024, SMC Manufacturing VietNam completed the SMC Automation Lab equipped with thousands of modern pneumatic equipment, cabinets, and pneumatic operating software for training. Besides sponsoring equipment, the Company provided an in-depth training in pneumatics and automation for Mechatronics and Electronics lecturers.

In 2023 and 2024, SMC Manufacturing Vietnam has also sponsored LHU students many pneumatic and automatic equipment packages serving robot development to participate in the Vietnam Robocon.

At the ceremony, leaders of LHU expressed deep and sincere thanks to the SMC Corporation for their support in factory tours, personnel training, equipment sponsorship and cooperation commitments between the two sides.
