External AUN-QA assessment at institutional level, LHU steps close to an international standard ecosystem

In an important step to improve the quality of education and affirm its position on the international education map, LHU - a private university in Dong Nai, has successfully achieved AUN-QA Certificates for 10 training programs and ABET Certificates for two programs. This is a testament to the University's constant efforts in conquering international standards and providing the best learning environment for students.

LHU builds a strong foundation before entering an external assessment at institutional level

LHU's 10 training programs winning AUN-QA accreditation is the result of a process of striving, innovation and continuous improvement from the University's faculty and staff.

AUN-QA (ASEAN University Network – Quality Assurance) is a quality assurance network of universities in Southeast Asia to ensure the quality of higher education and meet labor market needs.

* Since 2008, quality assurance has become one of the key functions in LHU's development and operations strategy. LHU started providing training courses on curriculum improvement and actively participated in several quality assurance workshops. Since then, students and employers' feedback has been considered as an input in revising LHU's academic programs.

* In 2017, LHU was recognized by the Vietnam Education Accreditation Center for its good learning environment and facilities to support teaching, learning and research activities.

* In April 2019, LHU carried out the quality assessment for the two training programs (Information Engineering Technology and Electrical - Electronics Engineering Technology) according to AUN-QA standards. As a result, the two programs were certified as meeting quality accreditation and recognition standards by the AUN-QA.

* In 2021, LHU conducted the 219th online AUN-QA assessment for four undergraduate programs: Pharmacist, Accounting, English Language and Business Administration due to the impact of the covid epidemic.

* In early 2023, LHU continued the onsite AUN-QA assessment of four more training programs: Japanese Studies, Construction Engineering Technology, Finance - Banking, Automation and Control Engineering Technology. As a result, all simultaneously met the AUN - QA standards.

* In September, 2023, LHU officially received the certificate of educational institution quality accreditation, cycle 2 from the VNU-HCM Center for Education Accreditation. That time, among LHU's highlights, the evaluation team was attracted by the three points: the people; methodical strategies and investment in digital transformation; and systematically invested quality assurance and accreditation activities.

Following the success of 10 training programs meeting the AUN - QA standards, LHU is currently at crunch time to prepare for the upcoming AUN - QA institutional assessment which will be held from June 10 to 14, 2024. This is an important step for the University to continue to proclaim its reputation and quality.

Recent preparation tasks include:

Improving facilities: Upgrading and investing in modern infrastructure and facilities to meet the students' learning and research needs

Developing the curriculum: Updating and perfecting practical curricula associated with the needs of society and businesses.

Training and fostering lecturers: Empowering the teaching staff's professional qualifications and teaching skills ensuring they are always excellent instructors and motivators.

Strengthening scientific research activities: Encouraging and supporting scientific research activities, creating favorable conditions for students and lecturers to participate and publish valuable research projects.

For AUN-QA, effort is not enough

LHU's pedagogical team has proven its high sense of responsibility and continuous efforts to improve the education quality. Achieving and maintaining AUN-QA certificates is the result of efforts and close collaboration between departments, faculty, students and stakeholders in the community.

During its development process, the University has always focused on student-centered education, helping learners comprehensively develop from professional knowledge, career skills to ethical values ​​and social responsibility.
