Seminar "Prestigious scientific databases for higher education institutions"

Publishing scientific articles is an activity that permanently recognizes research contributions, and also an important bridge to share knowledge with the scientific community. Besides, scientific publications and university rankings are clear testaments to each educational institution's research capacity and prestige. They are also important measures to evaluate the quality of each institution. To provide a deeper insight into Vietnam's scientific research achievements, on August 24 morning, 2024, LHU successfully organized a seminar themed "Prestigious scientific databases for higher education institutions".

Attending the seminar were Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan - Vice Rector, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Son - Director of the Center of Scientific Research and Applications, along with leaders of affiliated units, lecturers and staff of LHU.

Particularly, presiding over the seminar was Dr. Le Van Ut - Assistant to the Chairman of the University Board for Research Affairs, Chairman of the Research Ethics Committee, Vice Chairman of the Science and Technology Advisory Council, Head of the Research Group of Scientometrics and Research Administration Policies (SARAP), Van Lang University. He has had extensive experience in publishing research papers and ranking scientific achievements published in the world's reputable scientific journals.

Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan - Vice Rector of LHU highly appreciated roles of scientific research and applications, at the same time sending sincere thanks to Dr. Le Van Ut for taking the time to share his experience with lecturers of LHU.

At the seminar, Dr. Le Van Ut provided the participants with updated information on university rankings based on scientific publications and achievements of Vietnamese scientists in the first half of 2024 according to the WoS system. His presentation has helped lecturers gain a deeper insight into the status of domestic scientific research, at the same time opening up many new directions for research activities in the coming time.

The seminar is not only an opportunity for lecturers to gain experience but also for LHU to gain a practical perspective in consolidating its position and improving the quality of scientific research, contributing to the development of national higher education.
