Closing ceremony of the STEM-Focused EnglishWorks! Program

On the morning of November 14, 2024, at hall B203, campus 1, the Closing Ceremony of the STEM-Focused EnglishWorks! Program took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere, making the successful conclusion of a meaningful 6-month learning journey of 26 students. Fully supported by the Regional English Language Office (RELO), the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the SEAMEO Regional Training Center, the Program equipped learners with practical knowledge and skills for international integration.

Attending the event, from LHU, were Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan - Vice Rector; MA. Le Duc Thinh and MA. Dang Thi - Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of English Language; Dr. Le Thi Thu Huong - Dean of the Faculty of Science and Food Technology; along with esteemed faculty members. The event also welcomed distinguished guests including Mr. Nguyen Tan Hung – Deputy Director of SEAMEO RETRAC; Mr. Jeremy Luna – Press Attaché from the U.S. Consulate General; and Ms. Ta Le Yen – External Affairs Specialist representing the U.S. Consulate General.

The STEM-Focused EnglishWorks! Program extends beyond basic language teaching, focusing on practical applications across many career fields. The Program attracted the participation from 26 students from different specialized faculties, including Faculty of Science and Food Technology, Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics, and Faculty of Finance and Accounting.

In addition to enhancing students' specialized English skills, this Program opens up more career opportunities, particularly in the STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). English is not merely a communication tool but also the key for students to access cutting-edge knowledge, technologies, and global collaboration opportunities, thereby elevating both individual and organizational professional standings.

Honoring and recognizing teachers who have successfully completed their tasks

EnglishWorks 2024 is a testament to the vital role of international cooperation in education. The support and companionship from the RELO, the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, and the SEAMEO RETRAC not only brings valuable resources but also emphasizes the importance of education as a strong bridge between nations. 

The closing ceremony is an opportunity to recognize the students' efforts and achievements, and marks a new journey as well, equipped with knowledge and skills to confidently conquer the challenges ahead.
