Privileges high school teachers receive from AI and LHU

In the digital age, AI is transforming the way people work, learn, and communicate. Higher education has seen a significant shift with AI. This means that high school education cannot remain outside this trend. Integrating AI into teaching not only improves educational quality but also fosters a more flexible, personalized, and effective learning environment. However, in many high schools across Vietnam, the application of AI remains limited. Therefore, strengthening the use of AI in education has become an urgent necessity.

How does AI support teachers?

On March 18, 2025, during a training session on “Applying AI in Teaching” for teachers at Vo Truong Toan high school in Cam My district, Dong Nai province, Dr. Le Phuong Truong, Head of the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance at LHU highlighted four key benefits teachers receive from AI.

Personalized learning

Each student has different learning abilities and styles. AI can assist teachers in developing personalized learning programs by analyzing students' learning data, thereby suggesting appropriate contents and teaching methods.

Automated grading and competency assessment

AI can automatically grade multiple-choice tests and essays based on specific criteria, helping teachers reduce their workload and have more time to focus on creative teaching activities. Additionally, AI can analyze students' learning outcomes to assess their level of understanding, enabling teachers to adjust their teaching strategies accordingly.

Diverse learning resources

With AI, teachers can access and utilize a rich repository of resources, including videos, lectures, exercises, and interactive simulations, enabling students to access knowledge in a more vivid and visual way.

Enhanced student interaction and support beyond class hours

AI assistants can help students answer questions about their lessons, guide them through assignments, or suggest reference materials without the teacher's direct presence. This fosters self-learning abilities and improves academic performance.

During the session, Dr. Truong also addressed some challenges that teachers face when applying AI in teaching. He stated "Although AI offers many benefits, there are still challenges that prevent its widespread use in high schools".

Lack of technological skills: Many teachers have not received formal AI training and educational tools.

Infrastructure limitations: Some schools are not yet equipped with the computer systems, software, and strong internet connections required for deploying AI.

Resistance to change: Some teachers are concerned that AI may replace their traditional role in the classroom.

LHU brings AI applications closer to high school teachers

To strengthen the application of AI in teaching, several high schools in Dong Nai have collaborated with LHU to provide initial AI training and awareness enhancement for teachers. These initiatives have offered advanced knowledge and tools related to AI, initially helping teachers innovate their teaching methods and improve the effectiveness of classroom management.

At the training session, teachers received an introduction to and guidance on popular AI tools such as ChatGPT, Canva AI, Quiz AI, Socratic, and others. These tools assist teachers in planning lessons, designing lectures, creating automated tests, and personalizing learning content for students. In addition, teachers had the opportunity to get hands-on practice with real-life AI applications, exploring ways to optimize their teaching time, increase classroom engagement, and support students more effectively.

Notebly, the training also emphasized the importance of using AI efficiently. LHU experts engaged in discussions with teachers on how to use AI as a powerful assistant without compromising the core values of the teaching profession - creativity, inspiration, and character education for students.

Through the sharing session at Vo Truong Toan High School, Dr. Truong added “To make AI truly effective in education, in addition to equipping teachers with essential skills to effectively integrate AI into their teaching, schools need a strategic plan to invest in AI equipment and software that align with teaching needs while ensuring a stable internet system to serve online teaching and digital interaction.”

AI adoption in teaching is not only a trend but also a necessity in the context of modern education. High school teachers need to quickly grasp this technology to enhance teaching quality and help students access knowledge in the most effective way. With proper investment and preparation, AI will become a powerful assistant to help both teachers and students to achieve new milestones in education.

With a team of AI experts, LHU is a pioneer in applying AI to management, and especially in teaching and research. The University is ready to collaborate with local and neighboring high schools to share knowledge, tools, and skills for integrating AI into both management and instruction.
