Lac Hong University earns first-ever AUN-QA accreditation for four master's degree programs

QUALITY MILESTONE – ADVANCING POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION AT LHU

Dong Nai – December 3, 2025

Lac Hong University (LHU) has officially achieved ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) certification for its first four postgraduate programs, marking a pivotal step in the university’s journey toward high-quality education and sustainable development across Southeast Asia.

Regional accreditation with global relevance

On September 28, 2025, four postgraduate programs at LHU were officially certified by the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework. This milestone marks the first time LHU’s Master’s programs have been regionally accredited, bringing the total number of AUN-QA certified programs at the university to 18.

The four newly certified programs include:

1. Master of Business Administration

2. Master of Civil Engineering

3. Master of Information Technology

4. Master of Finance and Banking

This accreditation is valid from September 28, 2025, to September 27, 2030, signifying a major advancement in academic quality assurance, international collaboration, and global competitiveness.

“Achieving AUN-QA certification allows students access to internationally benchmarked learning environments, while expanding opportunities for study, research, and employment within the ASEAN community,” stated Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, President of LHU.

Aligning Educational Strategy with the SDGs

This quality assurance achievement demonstrates LHU’s active contribution to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Going beyond compliance, LHU fosters a culture of continuous improvement, equal opportunity in education (SDG 5 – Gender Equality), and reduced inequality (SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities) through inclusive and accessible postgraduate pathways.

LHU is also expanding its strategic collaborations with over 40 regional universities. These partnerships support student and faculty exchanges, co-research initiatives on sustainability, and joint academic development — all of which equip students to thrive in the global knowledge economy and contribute to sustainable solutions.

Education with long-term impact

Looking ahead, guided by its vision to become an internationally oriented, application-driven university, LHU continues to lead in embedding sustainability into both academic policy and institutional operations. The AUN-QA certification at the postgraduate level reinforces LHU’s institutional mission to deliver education that is not only responsive to today’s needs but also anticipates future societal challenges.

“Achieving AUN-QA certification for our master’s programs is a significant milestone not only for LHU but for the entire ASEAN academic community. It sets a compelling example of collaboration and continuous quality enhancement that other universities in the region can emulate.”
– Le Phuong Truong, Head of Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance, LHU
