Honoring the achievements of Vietnam science and technology

In the evening of May 28, at Hanoi Opera House, Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) in cooperation with Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Science and Technology held a ceremony to review and give away 2014 Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award. Member of the Politburo, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan attended and made a speech.

According to Prof. DSc Dang Vu Minh, Chairman of VUSTA, Vietnam Technological Creations Award (VIFOTEC) is annually awarded to authors whose works bring scientific and socio - economic values and have been applied effectively in Vietnam. For the last 20 years (from 1995 to 2015), the Award has drawn the participation of nearly 2,200 attending works including nearly 700 award-winning ones. In 2014, 40 works were awarded including four First, seven Second, 11 Third and 18 Consolation prizes.

At the event, Lac Hong University received 13 certificates of merit for collective, two Golden Cups, one world invention certificate and two creative youth badges.

Speaking at the awarding ceremony, Chairman Nguyen Thien Nhan congratulated the Organizing Board and scientists on the occasion of 20 year closing and 2014 VIFOTEC prize awarding. He also praised the efforts and achievements authors have made over the past 20 years.

In addition at the ceremony, he acknowledged proposals and solutions made by the Organizing Board in order to enhance the quality of the Award to attract more creators, scientists and especially support from the State for projects.
