LHU hosts Koma Taisen competition for fist time

In the morning of September 30, the first Lac Hong Koma Taisen competition organized by Faculty of Mechatronics – Electronics was held at the Application and Scientific Research Center – LHU. The contest saw the presence of Mr . Hirate - Chairman of World Koma Taisen Association, Dean of Faculty of Mechatronics - Electronics DSc. Nguyen Vu Quynh, DSc. Nguyen Thanh Son, lecturers including Le Hoang Anh, Nguyen Ba Thuan, Tran Phu Cuong, 56 students representing 28 participating teams and a great number of fans.

After two hours of competition, the Organizing Board has selected two teams for the finale. As a result, the team of student Tran Van Nghia has won the First Prize and the team of Vo Khanh Vy took second place. The two teams will represent LHU to participate in Koma Taisen Vietnam 2015 which will be held on October 10 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Koma Taisen is a spintop competition annually held in Japan, attracting the participation of nearly 2,000 enterprises and universities. The competition was held first in Vietnam in 2014. Through this contest, Association of Japan's enterprises wishes to look for businesses and universities or colleges which major in Mechanical Engineering to exchange experience and speed up cooperation relation between Vietnam and Japan. The competition is also an opportunity for all schools to seek investment from Japan businesses, popularize their majors and introduce their students to recruiters in the field of exact mechanical process.

As prescribed, the Koma (spintops) must have a diameter of 20mm ±0.005 (including sub parts), without restriction on materials and weight. The competition table is made by polystyrene, having a diameter of 250 millimeters.
