LHU celebrates its 20th anniversary of foundation and development

In the morning of November 17, LHU solemnly held a ceremony to mark its 20 the anniversary of foundation and development (1997-2017) and to receive First Class Labor Medal of the State President.

Comrade Nguyen Phu Cuong visited the exhibition of 20-year LHU's achievements.

The ceremony saw the presence of PCC member, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of People's Council Nguyen Phu Cuong, Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee Dinh Quoc Thai, Vice Chairwoman of provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoa Hiep, representatives of departments, agencies of the province and the Ministry of Education and Training.

Chairman of provincial People's Committee Dinh Quoc Thai awarded First Class Labor Medal of the President and the 20-year laudatory writing of establishment and development to LHU.

Expressing LHU remarkable achievements after 20 years of foundation and development, People's Teacher Dr. Do Huu Tai – Rector said that from the only training institution to date, the University had nine training institutions. Presently, the University has 11 faculties with 20 undergraduate training majors, 6 master and 2 doctoral training majors. The total number of permanent staff and lecturers is 570.

Chairman of provincial People's Committee Dinh Quoc Thai attached the title of National Emulation Fighter to Dr. Do Huu Tai - Rector.

After 20 years, the University has trained nearly 40 thousand bachelors, engineers. It has won 7 championships at the Vietnam Robot Competition. Also, representing Vietnam at the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest for 7 times, LHU has won 2 championships, 3 Second and 2 Third prizes. The University has won 3 championships at the Shell Eco-marathon Asia. LHU was rank first out of 59 non-public universities on technology transfer to enterprises by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Vice Chairwoman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoa Hiep awarded certificates of merit of the provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals of LHU.

From the above achievements, LHU had been honored to receive 2 Second Class Labor Medals, 6 Third Class Labor Medals, 5 Excellent Emulation Flags awarded by the Prime Minister. Specially, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary, LHU received First Class Labor Medal.

Trade Union Representative of Ministry of Education and Training awarded certificates of merit to 6 individuals of the University.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hoa Hiep highly appreciated the achievements LHU has made in upgrading facilities, teaching staff and training, scientific research, technology transfer activities.

LHU students showed special performances to mark the anniversary.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee suggested the University continue to enhance the quality of human resources training that the province needs; promote scientific research following the reality of the 4th Industrial Revolution; strengthen training cooperation with enterprises, especially the transfer of modern technology, also noting that the University needs to continue to follow the direction of the Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Phu Cuong in the recent visit and working session, determining to build a modern university with high quality training.

Under the authorization of the State President, Chairman of provincial People's Committee Dinh Quoc Thai attached the First Class Labor Medal and presented the laudatory writing of the provincial People's Committee to LHU. On this occasion, 11 collectives and 46 individuals of LHU were awarded certificates of merit for their outstanding contributions by the provincial People's Committee.
