LHU-304 team won Excellent Prize at Pacific 24-hour Hackathon Competition

LHU-304 team from Faculty of Information Technology - LHU on November 25 has excellently won at Pacific 24-hour Hackathon Contest held by Binh Duong provincial People's Committee at Eastern International University. Earlier, the team won the champion at Vietnam IOT Hackathon 2017 organized by Viettel Corp.

Students of IT - LHU leading in smart traffic solution

After two days, competing with 70 teams with more than 350 candidates coming from technological enterprises and strat-up groups nationawide, LHU-304 continued to work on computers to write code based on cloud computing for 24 hours continuously. In the end, LHU - 304 won Excellent Prize worth VND 50 million and a start-up package for the intelligent traffic solution.

The competition lies in a series of events of "Pacific Smart City Conference 2017", so the finished product is useful application software related to improving the quality of Binh Duong community services to build Binh Duong intelligent city in the future.

Playground for young people with passsion and knowledge of programming

Speaking about the reason for joining the contest "Vietnam IOT Hackathon 2017", Nguyen Minh Son - captain of LHU-304 team said that "young people with passion and well-trained programming knowledge have always been encouraged to find new ways. Such competition gives young people the opportunity to experience and challenge themselves by designing, creating applications on mobile devices or the web. Meeting the theme of the competition is a very interesting challenge."

Son added "The solution of LHU-304 team can help control the traffic of a city completelty automatically, especially trafic lights, providing vehicle controllers with traffic data. This solution is also advantageous to traffic police and traffic management units. Joining the competition, we met and exchanged with experts from Binh Duong province's departments and agencies in orientating and consulting ideas, developing and implementing the ideas of building Smart City."

With this outstanding achievement at the competition, LHU-304 team has received great sponsor from Becamex IDC Corp, Dutch Consulate, Eastern International University, VNTT Company, VNPT Company, IBM Company ... which can turn the idea of LHU-304 into reality.
