LHU provides human resources for U.S. businesses

On November 27 morning, 2023, after visiting U.S. businesses in Dong Nai province, the U.S. delegation visited and worked with Lac Hong University (LHU). Leading the delegation was Ms. Virginia Kent - CHIPS Act ITSI Senior Coordinator, Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs (EB), U.S. Department of State; Mr. Simeone Mark Peter - EB Expert, U.S. Department of State; Mr. Ellis Christopher Charles - Economic Expert, U.S. Embassy in Vietnam; Ms. Nguyen Phuong Thao - USAID's Expert; Ms. Nguyen Thi Nha Trang - Economic Expert, U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

Here, the delegation mentioned the cooperation in training and providing human resources for On Semiconductor Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park). As known, this is a U.S. business manufacturing electronic components.

During the meeting, LHU leaders introduced the University's establishment and development processes, multi-disciplinary and multi-level training programs, domestic and foreign cooperation ties, as well as its participation in the BUILD-IT program for training quality improvement. In particular, LHU also shared its vision for many years to come, including the inauguration of a modern facility in August 2025, which will bring positive changes to its educational quality.

The delegation also highly appreciated the University's efforts and successes in training and scientific research, especially in information technology, electronics and semiconductors. The delegation proposed and discussed cooperation opportunities with LHU in the future, such as building training programs, facilitating student's internship and employment, particularly in the field of semiconductor industry and electronic chip design.

This working visit will begin a new and effective cooperative relationship between the United States and Vietnam. Hopefully, the upcoming cooperation will bring new steps in working, improving the training and research quality, thereby providing high-quality human resources for important areas.
