"Ring the Golden Bell" to close King Sejong’s Cultural Month"

On December 9, 2023, Bien Hoa King Sejong Academy and LHU solemnly co-organized a program to summarize activities during the King Sejong's Cultural Month, at the same time to find the winner of "Ring the Golden Bell" contest.

The event saw the presence of Outstanding Teacher. Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Lan - Vice Rector; Hoang Tien Dung, M.A - Deputy Head of Office of International Affairs; Nguyen Thi Nhu Thuong, M.A - Vice Dean of Faculty of Oriental Studies; Nguyen Hoang Kim Ngan, M.A - Department Head of Korean Studies, Manager of Bien Hoa King Sejong Academy; lecturers and Korean experts as advisors.

In her opening speech, Vice Rector Nguyen Thi Thu Lan acknowledged and appreciated the Faculty of Oriental Studies's efforts and contributions to the development of Korean language training in Vietnam together with the birth of Bien Hoa King Sejong Academy. She also expressed her belief that academic activities and competitions would contribute to tightening the Vietnam - Korea relationship, especially enhancing knowledge for students of the two sides.

At the event, the Organizers summarized activities held at the Bien Hoa King Sejong Academy; showed sincere gratitude to Ms. Ha Jiyeon - Dispatched lecturer for her 4-month companion and devotion in providing quality lectures about Samulnori and Haegum for Lac Hong Bilingual School's pupils as well as LHU's Korean Studies majors; and awarded certificates of completion to learners of the 1A, 1B offline elementary classes and to the 10 best ones.

In 2023, with the support of LHU lecturers and its efforts, the Bien Hoa King Sejong Academy opened 36 online and offline Korean classes. With the revenue earned from these classes, the Academy awarded a scholarship worth VND 100 million to the Department of Korean Studies's King Sejong Scholarship Fund.

Following the event was the intense competition of 60 contestants at the Ring the Golden Bell Contest. In order to ring the golden bell, all contestants were supposed to answer 20 questions related to Korean culture, history and people,... The competition became tough and fierce when there were still few contestants on the stage by question 20. The organizers had to come up with additional questions to find the winner.

In the end, student Tran Thi Mai Huyen excellently won the First prize and got a laptop computer.
