Expanding international cooperation with universities and colleges nationwide

In the context of higher education rapidly transforming under the trend of globalization, a university’s ability to stand firm and affirm its position depends not only on its internal quality but also on its readiness to open up for collaboration, learning, and integration.

On November 14, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Vice Rector of LHU and Member of the Executive Board of the International Cooperation Club, attended the seminar “Sharing experiences on internationalization among universities and colleges in Vietnam”, which was co-organized by Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the International Cooperation Club under the Association of Vietnamese Universities and Colleges.

held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology

At the event, Mr. Lam and other delegates discussed internationalization strategies, academic cooperation, joint training programs, and efforts to improve educational quality in line with international standards. The seminar also brought together members and vice members of the Club’s Executive Board, leaders of various universities and colleges, as well as international cooperation officers from institutions across the country.

Internationalization is not simply about signing MoUs or launching a few joint programs. It is a long-term process that requires strategic vision, comprehensive investment, and, most importantly, the vision of educational leaders. LHU’s participation reflects its determination to embrace advanced educational standards while learning from the practical experiences of partner institutions.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam emphasized “International cooperation is a key pillar in LHU’s development strategy. The University focuses on building and effectively implementing cooperative programs, especially sending students abroad for internships. This is achieved through clear assignment of responsibilities to functional units in partner engagement and organizing international learning activities”. He further stressed “All international agreements are thoroughly reviewed to ensure they truly benefit students and lecturers. Only programs that bring real value are signed and put into practice. In addition, LHU is actively fostering an international culture across the University. Students are equipped with knowledge of global cultures, improved language skills, and greater confidence to thrive in an international working environment after graduation”.
